Database Trials
xPharm We have a trial subscription to the xPharm database. This Elsevier database is a comprehensive pharmacy reference product. From Elsevier's website, "this research workflow solution is split into four distinct sections which are all searchable and highly interlinked. This database covers molecular Targets, including receptors, enzymes, transporters and ion channels, chemical Agents, including both drugs and endogenous compounds, clinical Disorders, and basic pharmacological Principles."
  • The trial is now available and will run through Wednesday, September 3, 2008, so please make use of the databases and send your comments to Barbara Kuchan. Your opinion is highly valuable as we decide whether to subscribe to this resource.

    Lexi-Comp Online is a clinical, point-of-care information tool comprised of a series of drug information databases. The heart of Lexi-Comp Online is Lexi-Drugs, a comprehensive drug data resource of over 1600 drug monographs, covering over 8000 medications, each offering up to 55 fields of information. Other files in this package include a drug interaction tool; patient handouts; a comprehensive medical calculations application; a drug identification instrument and a natural products file.

    EXAM MASTER Online for 2005, a question bank for USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3 is now available. This web-based exam and board preparation program for medical students, residents and physicians contains over 16,000 questions in basic sciences and clinical medicine. After setting up your personal account, select Create Exams to build exams and study questions. Questions can be accessed in both study mode and test mode, and includes detailed scoring feedback, making it an excellent self-assessment tool.

  • pre-1995 journals: All pre-1995 bound journals are at the South Library, 3223 North Broad Street on the 2nd floor (Old Dental Building).
  • Free Interlibrary Loans: Choose "Materials and Forms" from our web site. There are four forms in all: two for requests for books/articles within the Temple library system and two traditional interlibrary loan requests. Based on the individual's campus/library affiliation - Kresge, South or Podiatry - the request will be sent to the appropriate library.
  • Get Reference Help Online: Virtual Reference Desk: Chat and co-browse with a medical librarian: M-F: 9AM-4PM
